SHADOW OF THE WALL
by Enrico Garzilli
The Berlin Wall, a symbol of the Cold War divided the Eastern part of Germany from the West, and also separated friends, families and lovers.
On November 9, 1989, Berlin was reunited, and this November 9, thirty years later, Enrico Garzilli's 'Shadow of the Wall' will be presented in Rhode Island.
His production portrays Berlin 1988-1989 just before the fall of the Wall during a time when this cruel and corrupt partition was forcing two young lovers from the East and West apart. This outstanding musical dramatizes the idealism and courage that the oppressed need to survive and prevail.
